What I meant to say in my original post is that I want to lower the car, which i think will look better, without degrading the suspensions performance. Normally with conventional coil-over suspension you can achieve this by changing the springs. Usually lowering the car improves performance (while not degrading ride quality too much) if done correctly.
Anyway, I called Multimatic and after being transferred to 5 different people they finally told me that they cant comment on doing any modifications to the shocks for liability reasons.
So then I called Phoenix racing (they are very successful SCCA racing team with close ties to GM) and spoke to them for a while. Basically they think, and I agree, that it is best to wait until a reputable company that does real R&D comes out with a kit, otherwise I run the risk degrading the performance and ride quality.
I'm going to look into these 20" replica wheels for the street and mount my track tires on the OEM wheels. Unfortunately the widest they make these 20" wheels are 11" and our set up is staggered with the rear wheels being 11.5.
