yes i agree what is your set up yo u may be clipping the signal and or major distortion. check your wiring also. is this what you are using #SB-GM-CTRIP/10TW3/UF that is the model of jl bauxite or are you using a custom built one either way if you are at 55cu you should be fine thats going to be either wire issue under power or way way over power issue those subs can take a beating and can supply plenty of sound aka bass for average person
