Was not a camaro fan after the 1st gen. Would have bought a mustang if not for the 5th gen. Had a 69 SS I bought as a present to myself for career accomplishments. Had a fella stop by and admire it one day while I was working in the yard. He ask me ..How much for the camaro? ...I jokingly said a astronomical amount and said cash..we reminisced about the good old days and long lost hot rods. He thanked me for my time and looking at my car and left. 2 days later,I'm at work and the wife calls and says...There's someone here and he said he's here to buy the camaro..she says...I didn't know it was for sale.. Isaid I didn't know it was for sale either...Low and behold,the guy had went to the bank and got the cash. Being a man of my word I reluctantly sold it to him..and then....I saw it..the 5th gen. I knew I had to have one. I got on the Computer and found the one I wanted. Drove to the dealership on a Sunday to make sure it was on the lot. The mechanic was there and got the keys..told me he couldn't let me drive it but I could sit in it and check it out..The next morning I called and told them I was coming to get it. I cant remember ever being more happy. I grinned all the way home..It is still just as much fun to drive today as it was the day it drove it off the lot. Driving had gotten mundane.
