Here is what I would do about depreciation value, you can learn from my mistake. This is coincidental because my car was damaged almost identical to yours.

You tell them that since your carfax report is gonna wear the "minor accident reported" tag for something that wasn't your fault that you want $2000 and will not settle without it. They always say "we will talk about that after your car is repaired"

This type of carfax report will get you knicked at certain dealers and on the private market. No one ever gives you the benefit of the doubt because the term "minor accident" is too vague. Your car will likely be fixed and the paint on the bumper will be way better than factory.

Get a rental car, it's on them. Don't be in a big hurry to get your own car back.
