yes the 10 sensors will work and you do need the tool or the dealer should do it for free on the 2012. takes 5 min for them to do. some time in 2011 GM decided that it was too dangerous to have people reseting their own sensors because if you slash the tire of the car next to you and dont let the air out of your own tire as your resetting them you may pick up the tire you slashed that has air rapidly draining form it. causing you to not get a reading that will result in many children and little puppies killed.
