The steering on my 1998 3.8 Camaro is tight. It is fairly difficult to steer with 1 hand. I asked my dad about it, since his mechanical knowledge is much greater than mine, and he said the power steering pump might not be working. It has fluid and it does not leak. There is no whining or any other abnormal noises. Is it most likely the power steering pump or could it be something else? If it is the power steering pump, how difficult is it to replace it myself and about how long should it take? Any recommendation on a specific brand of pump or will this one from AutoZone be sufficient?
