Wider front tires will cause more tramlining. They are also more expensive, which might or might not be a concern.

I disagree with the statement that these tires are deadly. Sure, they'd be harder to control at the limit, but you wouldn't hit the limits on daily roads anyway. The only danger that I can think of is the fact that most r-compounds will need to warm up to perform, more than what, say, PSS would need.

Actually, NT01 doesn't even need warm up to get sticky. In other words, they are already stickier than all street tires before they warm up and get even stickier. Their biggest drawback is the very loud tread (which is not common in all R-compounds, but much more likely than street tires) and poor wet performance, not to mention the short life common to all such tires.
