I didn't have one until I blew a rear seal. I kind of think it really isn't that big of a deal for the car to burn that gunk and you have to run a lot of oil through your supercharger before it affects the performance. I have had 3 supercharged cars and have a total of probably 120,000 miles on the 3 cars. I never had a catch can on the first 2 and probably still would not have one if I didn't have excess crankcase pressure on my highly boosted motor. I kind of think the cans draw out more gunk than passes the standard pcv which makes it look very important. The supercharger has been on and off my ZL1 many times with no indication there is any gunk getting on it at all. I kind of think it just gives you something else you have to watch. I suspect if you put 100,000+ miles on the engine and supercharger you would have some discoloration in the supercharger from the recycling of oil vapors but in the absence of another problem I don't think it will affect performance much. I honestly go through a lot of cars and engines and don't see me ever owning anything long enough that that can is going to make a difference. That is my opinion. If I thought I would keep the car until I die it would probably be a good idea. I don't think I have ever had a car more than 5 or 6 years.
