Going Ghetto

Showed my new ZL1 to a good friend of mine yesterday. He laughed when he saw the inside and said "HA, you're so Ghetto!"

I'm owning it - I have ghetto tastes, can't help it. Went into a hobby store and bought some micro-suede fabric to make an upper back pillow as the lumbar on the seats was pushing into old horse injury spinal fractures. Worked great. But I kept thinking about this loud upholstery fabric that just struck me when I was there, and after a month I went back and bought some.

As I love to rest my shifting arm on a console, I first built the console. Then wrapped a piece of upper cheapy seat pad from autozone in this fabric as it sits on the passenger seat. I'm going for it. Will sew that one, then cover the driver one as well.

Going really ghetto, made a "center" marker for the steering wheel. Think I'll cover the plastic cup holders hanging down on the right side of the center with fabric too. It's going to be LOUD, and plenty ghetto.

Don't give a hoot about flames - this is my livingroom on wheels. The place I don't cross over into is making any permanent changes to the car, all just superficial stuff easily removed.

But really curious if I'm the only one who does ghetto, or others sneak weird stuff into their fancy cars!
