Serious question: What could a high grade, DOT4 synthetic fluid do to your car that would need to be warrantied? I've never even heard of a brake fluid related failure for a warranty claim.

I'm all ears, so if anyone can tell me of an example, maybe I'll change my tune. This old dog learns new tricks every day.
There are some brake fluids that are not compatible, and would really cause all kinds of damage. That type of situation would be obvious, and not covered by warranty.

I think anyone that thinks Dot 4 would be a problem, just hasn't looked up that it is completely compatible with Dot 3. Plus, the owner's manual says to use racing brake fluid for competitive driving.

The funny thing is ... probably the same service writer that tells you Motul 600 will void your warranty, will probably turn around and try to upsell the person on all kinds of fluid flushes and cleanings with all kinds of aftermarket products. BG induction system cleaning... flushes of all kinds of fluids way before the factory recommended interval.

There are some great dealers that research and understand performance products. And there are some less than great that specialize in emptying your wallet on items that are most profitable for them to sell.
