San Antonio - First Citation

So, I got my first citation last night for speeding.

Normally I wouldn't be too upset about this, considering it IS a sports car and all, but the location and time of the infraction was rediculously stupid.

Blanco Road, as a few people here may know, is under construction to be widened out to two lanes each direction due to traffic congestion during rush hour. The speed limit on the road is 45 or 50 pretty much the entire length. However, apparently, there's one little section that it drops down to 35.

I was not aware of this, and this particular SAPD officer was using this particular stretch to his FULL advantage at 11:30 in the evening on a Friday.

I'm not denying that I was going 50, but really? I could totally understand if I was going 45 or 50 through a neighborhood. But 50 in a 35 through a quarter-mile stretch of road construction when there's no construction going on at 11:30 at night and no traffic? Especially when that particular stretch has always been a 45 or 50mph zone prior to the construction starting? Ugh.

Deferred adjudication, here I come.

Anyone else in the SA area already picked up a ticket? Tell us your story.

P.S. - I don't want this to be a "Cops suck" thread. So please be respectful. I know he was just doing his job. I'm more pissed that the speed limit in that section was set so low, not that the officer used it to his advantage.
