For me using the launch control was slower. It took a lot of practice and trial and error and a clutch to find the right amount of slip. With launch control and street tires I was consistent 12.6 1/4 mile. Without launch control 12.4. Drag radials and launch control 12.1 slipping the clutch netted me several 11.6's and a bunch of 11.8's.
I just replaced the clutch in my car for $340 for the OEM unit. Going to do a write up of how to do it because I figured out a really easy way to do it.
