If there were an auto-adjuster you could drive in reverse and pull the hand brake and release (hold the button in) several times.
With a manual adjuster you have to remove the drum.

I have not had any need to work on my parking brakes so I'm not sure.
I know they are small drum brakes inside the rotor. And, being parking brakes, you should be stopped before applying them so there should never be any wear on the pads. Which would negate the need for a self-adjuster.

What is left is the actuator. The handle and the cable. Most likely the cable.

But I am not there to look.

Right. Something is broken or sticking. Now you need to carry a bundle of firewood to chock your wheels.

Can you try a different dealer? Any GM.
Or PM Jasmine.

yeah I've seen conflicting reports on whether its self adjusting or not also, haven't had mine apart to confirm one way or the other. I guess I could look it up in the service manual and see what it has to say.
