So basically this device does the opposite of what the 'drive by wire' system was designed to do.
This device gets rid of the lag, increases emissions, increases the chance the engine components do something harsh, decreases safety, decreases fuel economy.
People with this car generally don't care about emissions or fuel economy.
But safety and long term engine functionality may be important to some people.

Here's something from someone who actually owns the product, me.
All this product does is remove that really really annoying deadspot in the pedal that you can't tune out. Before the mod, my pedal had a soft spot which did not really move the car leading me to have to push down harder and sometimes putting too much gas making the ride uncomfortable. Now the throttle is LINEAR. How much I put my foot down is exactly how much I get out. My fuel economy was 12.4 mpg on average now it is 13.1. All said and done, this product is amazing.
