Talking My ABM/WR 2ss/rs and a story

So this story begins with my dad. He's turning 50 this year but back in 78 he had got all the money he had saved up and went and pulled every string he could get to purchase a Blue 1978 z28. Some time around my birthday (86) he traded it in on an white 81 Convertible turbo trans am. Then sometime later in the late 90's sold that and bought and red 82 Camaro Z28 with ttops. I always remember how much fun I had riding around in them as a kid and yelling at him the slow the f%&* down. He is an incredible driver though, been a truck driver his whole life and always owned fast cars. Millions of miles under his belt. Our last good car was an 80 Olds toronado that just hauled ass. Our lives kinda fell apart for a few years, basically ended up with nothing. I had to get out of the living situation I was in so I moved in with my Grandma (dads side) and finished school then started work. My grandpa (Moms side), bless his heart, who is and has been fighting cancer for 10+ years now, gave us his 91 New Yorker Fifth Ave a few years ago when he went and bought a Toyota camery thing. Needed some work at first but its been a great car. I have not sat in a car more comfy than this one. And most couches even fail to compete. When the dealer asked if I would be trading it in I was like.... Hell no. Although, holy crap, electronic bugs wow. Got a 69 tbird a couple months ago on the cheap for a project car. 4 door.

So anyways, a couple years ago we were out window shopping and dreaming at a dodge dealership looking a Charger Super Bee or something and talking to the sales guy about the new Challenger. I decided that I really wanted a new car that day and started to work towards one. Maybe I was a little set on the challenger at first but that changed in April when me and dad went down to the GM Dealership and saw a VR 2ss/rs display model that was there for a few days. It was beautiful and it really caught my attention. This car just stands out, no matter what colour (Canadian eh). The (Our) salesperson, Jamie was very nice and polite and really despite our appearence. Picture a Truckdriver with a bald forehead and long hair, and me a metal head with a foot long Mohawk. (Which I keep down btw) Some dealerships we visited while we were waiting didnt even come out and talk to us. Lol. Carter GM North Shore has been a pleasure to deal with. The thought of custom ordering my new car just the way I wanted it was plain appealing. Jamie informed us he only had one SS and two v6 orders left available so I told him I would let him know in a week. During that week I did lots of research on the car and found this site. Went down and ordered an ABM 2ss/RS M6 with White Rally stripes, Sunroof, and Ground effects. I don't even like blue, I'm a red guy but something about that blue just punched me in the face and muscled me into buying it. Maybe it was for my dad but the white stripes are a touch of my own, along with the ground effects. Slapped down a 5000 deposit and left. I kept in contact with Jamie via email mostly and every now and then dropped in to hassle him.

Now we were expecting to get the car in the end of Oct, however early june rolled in and we were told that the car would be in at the end of july! Holy crap that pushed my schedule into overdrive as I worked my ass off to make this happen. Its all been worth it though, putting a bunch more money down and got financed for what I needed through GMAC. So yesterday (I guess two days ago now) I got a message from the dealer that the car had arrived. My dad was lucky to be in town and we were having lunch. We literally inhaled our food chucked money at the waitress and scrambled out the door. We get to the dealership instantly I see my baby poking its nose out into the sunshine and smiling at me. I cant wait to September first, I'm going down next Saturday to get it done I think. Oh and btw, being 22, Insurance has got me by the BALLS. This colour is amazing, its more than I could have ever hoped for. It just loves sunny day clouds.

Now this thread is worthless without pics, but this is pre dealer inspection and the dealer still has to install the ground effects. The only thing off is some plastic. She still shines.
