I see no use in complaining. It only makes you bitter. I'm adapting, and I've had to make changes, but they've actually improved my quality of life. I started carpooling/vanpooling due to high gas prices, and now I spend less money on gas, maintenance, and other car related expenses, spend less time traveling, spend more time with my wife, have a lot more human interaction through conversations during the commute, and as a result of all this I'm a lot happier at work. I went shopping at a farmers market yesterday and got produce for a steal (and supported small local farmers at the same time). Life could be better, but if you keep your head while all others are losing theirs, you stand a good chance of coming out just fine, if not better off.
