According to the engineer/test track driver I know who was involved in the chassis suspension development of the 1LE said the vehicle was designed with the Goodyears because of the still sidewalls. That great balance is partially derived from the Goodyears. He loves the Pilots but they have softer sidewalls and the car sets up differently-at least to a driver of his skill level
