This is why I am so adamant about sorting out issues before adding more variables (more parts). In your case, you had no choice as another part was damaged, but most of the time adding more parts makes trouble shooting more difficult and the repair more expensive.
I had another C5 member stop by our shop yesterday. He and his wife drove down from Maryland to find the cause of a noise after a suspension upgrade.. They had been to several shops and could not get it sorted. We had the Camaro on the lift for minutes and isolated the noise. It is a design issue with an aftermarket part. Not a flaw or bad part. Just the nature of the design which for a more race oriented consumer, would never have been an issue. Now that the owner understands it, they are very happy with their purchase and have stopped worrying about a problem or pending failure. They are back to enjoying their Camaro. Repair or additional parts cost? $0.00
