Hey John, just a thought...did you do the brake reservoir cap fix on your Z/28? I found that you need to remove the cap "spacer" so the OEM cap can breath during track events. Next time your pedal does not come up double check your brake fluid cap pressure by removing the cap. I bet you'll find it under pressure and by removing the cap your pedal will return to normal return position.

And yes, what backeddy said also...you need to bleed the brake fluid from the reservoir before and after each track event as well.
