I had one go out on my 2001 GMC truck and it never did refire. They had to replace it at the dealership and relearn the computer to read the proper engine crankshaft position. It only took an hour to fix it once they got started, but I was stuck on the side of the interstate in 105 degree Texas heat for 3 hours waiting for them to come get it on a Sunday afternoon.
