The infamous "list of 65", now called "Camaro Issues | Problems | Warranty Discussions".

Didn't they stop making SS 6M for a while due to some significant problem? Maybe output shaft failure?

The fact of the matter is, if you're buying a performance car of any make, and driving it hard even occasionally, it's not likely to live very long. You're never going to be on TV 18 years from now, standing next to your 300k miles Camaro SS 6M, talking about it's original engine or likely trans either. Probably most will go 100k since they warranty it that far. Hmm, 200k will be very rare. It's not just Camaro either. Same with others (especially stick cars - they get beat on a lot worse + factor in missed upshifts and wrong downshifts punishing the engine/driveline); . . . EVO, Mustang GT, Charger, Challenger . . .

All this nonsense about Mitsu being junk and the implication that Camaro is bulletproof is nonsense on both ends.

If you want something to last 10 trips around the planet, get something small and underpowered and drive it like you're hauling loose eggs on a table top.
