the driver has a bunch of crap and b.s. junk on their key fob causing excess weight and due to the angle of the ignition switch can turn it off.
the bottom line is that instead of GM redesigning the ignition so that the key is tipped forward instead of UP when you start the car therefore making an accidental turn off impossible based on simple physics, it was cheaper to give customers a $hitty key and destroy their switchblade keyfob.

I see. I was actually disappointed that the car had an ignition to begin with. I was expecting a push button start system that worked when the fob was in proximity. Like my old C6, or BMW.
