He doesn't need a lawyer for an 8 over with a clean license. He just sends in his not-guilty plea and deals with the court directly. They WILL knock it down. Even if they don't, he will still have time to bring in an attorney at any point in the process. Spending money on a lawyer when you clearly don't need one is definitely stoopid.
