I use wide.
I have three GoPros and the suction mount I can vouch for the one from GoPro, it will not come off. The last track day I hit 115 on my straight and no issues. I have also had it on my front fender and hit a cone while I was running AutoX and it only bumped the angle up, it was still shooting and no issues minus adding 2 seconds to my run...
The best advice is just to play with it, they are easy to use just mess around with angles that you think you'll like and it gets easier and easier.
I would stock up on batteries if you want to do overlays with GPS/OBD II data later on too as a two 20 minute sessions with the bluetooth running drains the battery quick!
