I really doubt 8 mph over will add any points. And if you have a clean record for 30+ years, I doubt there will be much of an insurance hit.
pay it, move on. fight the next one if it happens again. but if they have traffic school, I'd surely do that.
all the lawyer does is negotiate with the prosecutor. He doesn't do any thing magical. If prosecutor is nice, it gets dismissed or reduced but there's no guarantee. If it was a 20+ speeding ticket, then yea maybe worth getting lawyer. otherwise, anybody can get a small speeding ticket in 30+ years. I wouldn't sweat it.
well I was wrong... looks like it might be 2 points cause speed limit was under 55.
