any greater than 20% on the side windows or back window is illegal...you can have the strip to the AS-1 line on the windshield but no lower.
That said I had 5% on the front 2 doors, 5% over 20% on teh back 2 doors and back window...and only got pulled over once in 3 years with my Colorado. And with that I just got a cop I knew to sign saying that I fixed it (I hadn't) so it only really cost me $7.50
