The new C7 Corvettes have so much performance shoehorned into such a small space that there are cooling issues with every major system if you drive the car at it's crazy limits in hot weather. I suspect if you pullied the LT4 supercharger down only 580 hp (to match the ZL1) it would not have any more heat issues than the stock ZL1 currently does.

I'll admit that I have had reservations about GM using the 1.7. I had difficulty keeping the 1.9 and the subsequent 2.3L superchargers cool on my camaro. At this time I have not tried to run an engine with the 1.7 blower (I'm considering adding one to my LT1 stingray) so I don't have any first hand knowledge but I'm fairly certain that if the current ZO6 owners installed a larger reservoir, bigger pump, and larger heat exchanger, the new corvette would be much cooler. On one hand I'm a little disappointed that GM puts out a "performance" car that can't complete an all out 30 minute track session in the warmer climates of the country the car was built without additional modifications.

The new "up-model" Gen6 Camaro could use the LT4 and that would be very logical as far GM not needing to do a lot more engineering but since there is so much more room under the hood in a Camaro I would love to seem them look into an upgraded forced induction system for the next Camaro. If they really want to compete with the Hellcat and the next GT500 the LT4 is not going to cut it. Sadly the 1.9 and the other larger LS superchargers will not fit on the LT1 motor but GM could easily ask Eaton to build a new LT1 intake for the current 1.9 or 2.3 rotors. If they were to ask me I would say have Eaton design a brand new 3.0 supercharger to fit the LT1 and this would keep all of the power junkies happy for the life of the new motor.

I kind of think the new mid engine ZR1 corvette is going to have twin turbos on the LT 6.2 platform and I would love to see this engine in a Camaro. Of course anything about a mid-engine, turbocharged V8 Corvette is pure speculation on my part....
