Maybe the owner feels that going to a different format would serve the general public better, but facebook has it's limitations also. I know that with the lack emails of the threads that I subscribe to, it makes it harder for me to keep track of the posts that I've made in certain threads and it requires more effort to do so and I don't find that appealing going forward. Like all good things, they never last

In essence, its all a single forum. From the outside Camaro5, Camaro6, and Corvette7 may different look, and have different URLs, but from a database standpoint its all 1 forum. Just look at the forum stats on all three to confirm. Same number of members, same number of threads, same birthdays, etc. At this point its not really much more work than it would have been to have them as a sub-forum on Camaro.
I have no idea where you get the idea that Tran wants people to go to Facebook, that kinda goes against the purpose of owning & maintaining a website of your own in the first place.
And this issue does not only affect members. It affects site staff as well, and I suspect that the recent surge of registration e-mail problems is related to this as well. So its affecting how the site is run, albeit slightly, in addition to being a frustrating inconvenience to members trying to follow threads & such.
