Yep, I agree that unless there is an undisclosed powertrain choice (LT5?) we will see 2 versions of the LT4 powered car.

One would be an ZL1 replacement with MR shocks, all options and be an awesome street car.

The other would be a bare bones, CC braked, mass reduced, track tuned chassis, MONSTER.

It's hard to imagine that if GM has the LT4 in the Z06 ANNNND the CTS-V that somehow GM has a very low volume NA Z/28 engine in the wings.

So if the 2SS comes in at say 3,750 pounds I would put the ZL1 at 3,900 pounds or so. Similar in weight to the Alpha based CTS-V. That leaves the potential to get a Z/28 track focused version back down to may 3,800 pounds or maybe 3,750. That will pound the crap out of the 350R by having over 100 HP advantage and the benefit of GM chassis tuning which seems to consistently be better than Ford's.

But I'm still holding out for a NA LT5 that is 500 PLUS HP and maybe down around 3,500 pounds and then simply crushing everything in it's wake including the BMW M4. Buhhhhh bye!
