Agree on the recommendation to mount lower. Everything I have read indicates the airflow is cleaner down there. That one change may make all the difference.
Do you have the factory tune? (Sorry haven't read your whole thread). Is the car running lean?

The factory gauge does not show more than 266 degrees F (unless you read from OBD2,), and it's also fake : (. I documented this experimenting with an aftermarket gauge here in my oil cooler install thread. Long story short, GM only shows the real oil temps with the dry sumped engines.

It has a tune from Florida Speed via inTune for my headers and CAI. The engine is stock otherwise in terms of power mods.
There are quite a few people hitting these temps, the rest just don't have a gauge and so they don't know.
