My thoughts are if you're tracking it and you want to hold rpm's instead of shifting up it would make the decision for you at 8 seconds. If could definitely interfere with performance.

Keep in mind that that the Voodoo's power band is 1500 rpm higher than the LS7. If the feature was still in pace, that would be like Chevy limiting excursions above 5000 rpm. Anyway, no longer an issue
