But if you don't then it seems like a 1/4 mile run would put you over 6250 for more than 8 seconds. In the "real world" I would doubt you would ever notice unless you just like hearing the engine in higher rpms and just wanted to play in the upper register, for acoustic reasons only. Then you might find this.

My thoughts are if you're tracking it and you want to hold rpm's instead of shifting up it would make the decision for you at 8 seconds. If could definitely interfere with performance.

Keep in mind that that the Voodoo's power band is 1500 rpm higher than the LS7. If the feature was still in pace, that would be like Chevy limiting excursions above 5000 rpm. Anyway, no longer an issue
