I have a meeting set up for next week with the principal of one of the schools I will be in.
Hang in there, Jan.

If your tires are any good in the wet, you should have gone anyway, especially given that the car has been set up for cornering. Guaranteed there were people who showed up who still didn't run, and you'd most likely have ended up with only light traffic out there.

We're in the process of putting the house back into some sense of order. Thursday and Friday we had a small crew over replacing every window in the house proper - 16 in all - and we'd had to clear enough space around every single one of them not fully knowing what order they were going to tackle them in. The one window in the garage is neither double-hung nor sliding, so that one was left alone, as were the doors (which will be a separate project somewhere down the road). The windows are Andersen, the double-hungs just tip into the room for cleaning, and 50 years newer glass with no funny optical effects and screens without patches does make a difference. Cheryl is very happy with them.

I say "some sense of order" rather than any sort of true order, because I'm not quite ready to throw out the last of Dad's financial papers and such. There's still one or two things left for me to do about his estate before I can pack all that stuff away.
