I can't agree with ^^this statement^^.
I test drove a Z51 Stingray and ZL1 Camaro, and I owned a 2015 1LE before I bought my 2015 Z/28. None of those three cars can hold a candle to the performance of a Z/28. The Stingray has a much better interior and technology, but the performance felt totally underwhelming... And I really wanted to like the Stingray.
I do agree that the Z/28 is a tough sell, but from my POV it has nothing to do with Stingrays or SS's. I think all of the marketing as a track-only car has scared potential buyers off.
Q: Why would any rational person pay ~$60,000 for a ZL1 when they could get a Z/28 for the same price?
A: Because they haven't driven one, and they buy the hype that the Z/28 is ill-mannered on the street.
As most people that have driven one know, it is a great car on the street. No more harsh than the C6 Z06 that I owned previously. If anyone is on the fence, buy it. But only if you enjoy waves, thumbs-ups, and endless questions everytime you drive it...
