Seems that the driver side cat was rattling at just the right frequency and amplitude to trigger the cylinder 3 knock sensor, which caused the ECU to pull timing. Odd that this cylinder had the majority of the codes (maybe just the right resonance) and I'm scratching my head over why misfires were being reported. Whatever the case, removing the damaged rattling hfc's has solved the problem (for now).
I've learned a hard lesson about using hfc's for a high hp application and I've attached a picture showing cat shrapnel embedded in one of my waste gate valves. The turbo seems to be ok, but this could have been catastrophic!
