My advice would be, whatever you do, just don't come on a site for GenV Camaro owners and bash the platform. It's in bad taste and not received well.
I've worked on the Ford Modular stuff and LS motors (among others) and I can say unequivocally the LS platform is easier to work on and modify. I hear you can do a lot with just a tune on the current Coyote platform, but I can also say that supercharging an LS will yield a lot more than 450 whp, e.g. junkyard 5.3 turbos generally produce 650hp fairly easily.

The things I didn't like about the current Ford engines are:
1. Physical size vs displacement.
2. You generally have to pull the motor to do any engine mods.
3. Cost of upgrading cams (although there are some pretty pricey cam swaps on here)
4. You have to spin them over 8k to get real power, which sux on the street. (think old big block small block argument) RPMs kill engines. I would rather run boost or nitrous at 6k than wind any motor out to 8k or more. I realize there are types of racing where a high RPM motor is a big advantage, but I'm not into that.

With all that said, when I bought the GenV I was looking for an A body Baracuda to build since I was really Mopar guy when it came to racing. The GenV reminded me of the 67 GenI I wanted when I was in high school. The power is as good or better than any old muscle you will find and you can have it on a highly reliable platform with AC. I was also looking at Challengers, but my experience with Dodge and Ford are that once you go past 100k, lots of little annoying stuff starts to fail. I have not had the problem with Chevy.

You can race any platform, but I've always enjoyed the challenge of pushing the big girls down the track just as fast as the popular smaller platforms. However, if you really love your Mach, you probably will always find things you don't like about the GenV and never be happy with it.
