As a first timer or beginner, doing something as big as the hood without an extra hand is a NIGHTMARE. Having someone help you take the backing off and lay the film down initially makes it leaps and bounds easier though. Definitely use 3M 1080 Wrap film though, it's a lot easier to work with than some other films and can be quite forgiving. I've wrapped my hood as well as almost all my car (check my sig, the red is vinyl) in this stuff.
