I've had mine for about 9 months now, strangely though, mine have actually gotten softer. I don't use them for rinseless washing though, only for polish or sealant removal, so they probably haven't been used as much as yours. I had 10 of them, and I bought 20 more on their BF sale!
One thing you could try is to add some distilled white vinegar to the rinse cycle when you wash them. I do this once every 10 washes or so to "soften" my towels. I wouldn't think the fibers are damaged at all from heat since you only air dry. If your only washing the 10 towels in a mid sized load setting, about 1/3 cup should do.
