Some people call it drone. I prefer the term resonance, because that is what it is. It's the sound wave frequency from the exhaust harmonizing in a way that creates vibration in other parts of the car. When I did a muffler delete on a older Corvette ('96) I got it when lower gears starting from a stop. My fix was a resonated x-pipe from Magnaflow.
