I'd considered the same idea, but in answer to your question
Yes they fit v8
No won't go in boot well, they are too big, you need a space saver. For me that would not matter. In over 2 yrs of owning mine, I think I might have put a coat in the boot, once!
The rear ones would be no use as spares, as they would not fit the fronts (too wide) you need a front wheel, which will go on the front, but also fits the rear, if that makes sense!
