You can actually see remarkably well through the gap under the open hood.... but it does draw attention.

That said... if I had not been so lazy, I would have emptied all of the crap out of my trunk, and hooked the jumper box directly to the battery. Would not have had to drive with the hood open, then. So, the trunk battery IS a good idea!
