As a practitioner of the "welding arts", personally, that is a hack job. For a professional job, they should have cut the tips off your stock mufflers, and mated them to the straight pipe, after removing all of the flashing left from cutting the pipe to begin with. The transition should be somewhat smooth, with very little of the straight pipe protruding into the tip. Just my $.02....
