Most auto parts places like Kragen or Napa will do a load test for free. Load test is the best way to test a battery. It only takes a few minutes. Just leave the battery in place, turn the engine off.
If you need to replace the battery I would get a AGM ( All Glass Matt Battery). They are great. Interstate Batteries make a real affordable great one.
