...and this is where units like the Sansa E140 I posted earlier come in. They're not much more expensive than a flash drive, they can play stuff on their own, they can act as a flash drive, they can even support additional flash media (The Sansa E140 has 1gb and can accept SD cards). iPod's big advantage is market acceptance of the iPod and of ITMS.
