Yea I don't like it either...from what I can tell it has to do with the exhaust gases igniting in the exhaust pipes. My best guess is the chambers in the stock mufflers provided a buffer to allow the expanding gases be dampened. With straight pipes, or MBRP, etc. there is nowhere for the expanding gases to go except out the tailpipe at full force.
