There is an optimal set up for daily driving, an optimal set up for drag racing, and an optimal set up for a road course and they are all very different because they require the suspension to do very different things. Honestly, the difference between those setups is not even so much about spring rate as it is about the dampers. Something like Pfadt or BMR springs will ride well and improve performance but nothing like you would get with coil overs where you could dial in a set up for whatever kind of driving you are doing.
