When I repair wiring and have had the wire loom crumble from heat I install new wire loom. It's the ribbed protection around the bundle of wires. It can be purchased online or at your local automotive store. Cover any sections you think may come into contact with other components. It's cheap and it adds a bit more protection from physical contact. It also looks alot cleaner than wires run amok. As far as stock goes, if there is electrical tape over the end of the loom it's most likely factory and not a removal of loom.
