New Z/28 Owner - 2014 White 99048
Z was delivered yesterday afternoon. First stop was a hand car wash then went for ice cream w/ the wife.
First Impressions:
Other people seem to enjoy seeing the car almost as much as I enjoy driving it. The kid who washed the car was so excited he could hardly stand it. He probably had a bigger smile on his face then I did. I don't actually think he was the one who was supposed to be working on it because he ran over and pulled it out of the normal line of cars and put it in the detail bay. He asked me how much the car cost, showed me his 350z, told me how lucky I was, etc. I wasn't really prepared for the how much does it cost question.
We also had some enthusiastic responses from other people on the road. One guy pulled up beside us and was staring at the car so I rolled down the window. He asked if it was a Z/28 and I said yes. He responded with "F yeah. Whooooo!!!" Then took off when the light turned green. Was a pretty funny experience for my wife in the passenger seat because he was on her side. lol
The car sounds amazing but I wish it had a little bit more cam lope. Something I can solve in the future after I get bored w/ the current power level. The car only had 561 miles on it so I am trying to keep the RPMs down but doubt I will follow any type of break in procedure for the first 1500 miles. Just wont beat on it too hard.
It was in the mid 80's yesterday and the tires warmed up really quickly. The car definitely has a ton of grip and takes turns like it is on rails. I didn't find the ride to be as bad as I expected. My wife who is 33 weeks pregnant w/ twin boys didn't complain about the ride.
It is going to be very hard to keep the car clean. The big front tires throw stuff everywhere. Will definitely have to look at the stone guards.
I will try to add some pictures:
