I'm not sure about
eclipsing the Z/28 in performance, but I do think the Z/28's are hitting the bottom of the depreciation curve at mid to low 50's. This is one of the fastest depreciating cars I've ever witnessed, which is a shame given the engineering brilliance that went into this car - not to mention that the Multimatic suspension, steering, one-of-a-kind Alcoa wheels, Recaro seats, LS7 motor and Tremec transmission alone are worth at least 40K. Given that GM only approximately 1,7XX Z28's, I think 80% of current Z/28 owners are at the point of recognizing the value of the Z/28 and would not sell for less than $50K. Having said this, there is - and always will be - those 20% of owners that will have to fire sale for any given reason and you'll see some in mid to high 40's (with A/C option) The Z/28's without A/C option, perhaps low to mid 40's, IMO.
I truly appreciate how the GM Camaro team was able to turn a piece of junk Camaro into a masterpiece - and this was one of main reasons I bought the Z/28...the other was that it looks wicked sinister!!
