Ohhh nooo.
Lawyer up. Don't listen to GM. Get a lawyer. GM has to PROVE the part caused the failure. Get a LAWYER, because there will be other compensation to be had as well. I can't stress this enough. GET A LAWYER. GM will lose and you WILL be compensated for more than just the car.
GM has already lost this case, they are banking on you listening to them and walking away without obtaining legal representation. In the end it won't even make it to court, they will cave and settle. Been there, done that, get a lawyer. Stop all communication with GM and let your Lawyer send out his letter stating that he is now representing you in this matter.
