So unless the machining has improved which I don't believe has been confirmed it could very well plague all of our V8 cars especially the LS3's.

Would changing the 'break-in' oil at 500 miles and changing it two more times in the first 3000 miles possibly have drained a few chips? Seems like it could've helped.
